Call to Worship:
Leader: Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!
People: Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!
Leader: Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
People: Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!
Leader: Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered, O offspring of Israel his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones!
All: He is the Lord our God!
Prayer of Adoration, Assistance & Blessing
Hymnal #214 “Angels We Have Heard on High”
Angels we have heard on high,
sweetly singing o'er the plains,
and the mountains in reply
echo back their joyous strains.
Refrain:
Gloria in excelsis Deo.
gloria in excelsis Deo.
Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
Say what may the tidings be,
which inspire your heav'nly song? (Refrain)
Come to Bethlehem and see
him whose birth the angels sing;
come, adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord, the newborn King. (Refrain)
Reflection on the Law
Leader: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
People: This is the great and first commandment.
Leader: God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me.”
People: For although there may be so-called “gods” in heaven or on earth… yet for us there is one God.
Leader: You shall not make for yourself an idol.
People: What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God.
Leader: You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
People: Let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
Leader: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
People: There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
Silent Prayer of Confession
Assurance of Pardon - Isaiah 55:7
Hymnal #223 - “While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks”
While shepherds watched their flocks by night,
all seated on the ground,
the angel of the Lord came down,
and glory shone around,
and glory shone around.
"Fear not," said he — for mighty dread
had seized their troubled mind —
"glad tidings of great joy I bring
to you and all mankind,
to you and all mankind.
"To you, in David's town this day,
is born of David's line,
the Savior, who is Christ the Lord,
and this shall be the sign,
and this shall be the sign:
"The heav'nly babe you there shall find
to human view displayed,
all meanly wrapped in swathing bands,
and in a manger laid,
and in a manger laid."
Thus spake the seraph, and forthwith
appeared a shining throng
of angels praising God, who thus
addressed their joyful song,
addressed their joyful song:
"All glory be to God on high,
and to the earth be peace:
good will henceforth, from heav'n to men,
begin and never cease,
begin and never cease!"
Prayer of the Church – Elder B. Tidwell
Psalm 110 ”The Lord Said to My Lord”
The LORD said to my Lord:
“Sit here at My right hand
Until I make Your enemies
A footstool for Your feet.”
The LORD from Zion sends
Your scepter in its strength,
“With mighty power show Your rule
Among Your enemies.”
Your people freely come
Throughout Your day of pow’r;
From morning’s dawn, in holy robes,
Your youth are like the dew.
The LORD has sworn an oath,
And will not change His mind:
“In th’order of Melchizedek,
You ever are a priest.”
The Lord at Your right hand
Will shatter kings in wrath.
Among the nations He will judge,
And fill them with their dead.
Yes, He will smite and crush
Chief men in many lands.
And from the wayside brook He’ll drink,
And therefore lift His head.

Prayer of Application and the Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Hymnal #230 – “Thou Who Wast Rich beyond All Splendor”
Hymnal p. 845 - “Apostles Creed”
Minister: Christian, what do you believe?
All: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Amen.

Song of Praise – “Holy Child”
Holy Child who chose the hearts of men
To be His favoured home
Leaving heaven's gates for Bethlehem
God came to call His own
Now to us the highest King is born
Behold the royal Son
Glory kneels to bind up all that's torn
The promised One has come
Joy and pain as man He knew on earth
No place to lay His head
As a servant He embraced this world
And on a cross He bled
Having borne the deepest grief of man
He rose to heaven's throne
Now I'm sheltered in the Father's hand
Until He calls me home
May the gift of God amaze us still
The triumph of all time
As His child I kneel to heaven's will
To make His purpose mine
Though this road be scarred with trial and pain
It's paved with lavish grace
Knowing Him will be my greatest gain
His throne my resting place
Hymnal #731 - “Doxology”
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host:
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Benediction
