Morning Liturgy

Welcome and Announcements

Call to Worship.  Psalm 134:1-2

Leader: Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord! Lift up your hands to the holy place and bless the Lord!

TH #92  “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God”

A mighty fortress is our God,

a bulwark never failing;

our helper he amid the flood

of mortal ills prevailing.

For still our ancient foe

doth seek to work us woe;his craft and pow'r are great;

and armed with cruel hate,

on earth is not his equal.

Did we in our own strength confide,

our striving would be losing;

were not the right man on our side,

the man of God's own choosing.

Dost ask who that may be?

Christ Jesus, it is he,

Lord Sabaoth his name,

from age to age the same,

and he must win the battle.

And though this world, with devils filled,

should threaten to undo us,

we will not fear, for God hath willed

his truth to triumph through us.

The prince of darkness grim,

we tremble not for him;

his rage we can endure,

for lo! his doom is sure;

one little word shall fell him.

That Word above all earthly pow'rs,

no thanks to them, abideth;

the Spirit and the gifts are ours

through him who with us sideth.

Let goods and kindred go,

this mortal life also;

the body they may kill:God's truth abideth still;

his kingdom is forever.

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW

Leader: Honor your father and your mother.

People: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

Leader: You shall not murder.

People: Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no

murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Leader: You shall not commit adultery.

People: Everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed

adultery with her in his heart

Leader: You shall not steal.

People: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. Do your work quietly and

earn your own living.

Leader: You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

People: Having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his

neighbor.

Leader: You shall not covet anything that is your neighbor's.

People: For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Silent Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Grace

TH #637  “What Shall I Render to My God”

What shall I render to my God

for all his kindness shown?

my feet shall visit thine abode,

my songs address thy throne.

How much is mercy thy delight,

thou ever-blessed God!

How dear thy servants in thy sight!

How precious is their blood!

How happy all thy servants are!

How great thy grace to me!

My life, which thou hast made thy care,

Lord, I devote to thee.

Now I am thine, forever thine,

nor shall my purpose move;

thy hand hath loosed my bonds of pain,

and bound me with thy love.

Here in thy courts I leave my vow,

and thy rich grace record;

witness, ye saints who hear me now,

if I forsake the Lord.

Prayer of the Church: Pastor M. Connor Underseth

Psalm 100:1-5  “All the Earth with Joy”

All earth, with joy, to the LORD come with

loud voices ringing.

With gladness serve the LORD; come to

Him joyfully singing.

The LORD is God,

Know that He made us His own.

We are the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving, to His

courts come praising.

To Him be thankful, and bless His name,

your voices raising.

The LORD is good;

His lovingkindness endures,

His faithfulness lasts forever.

PRAYER OF APPLICATION & THE LORD’S PRAYER

Song  “Amazing Love”

My Lord, what love is this,

That pays so dearly,

That I, the guilty one,

May go free?

Chorus:

Amazing love, O, what sacrifice,

The Son of God giv’n for me.

My debt He pays, and my death He dies,

That I might live,

That I might live.

And so they watched Him die,

Despised, rejected;

But oh, the blood He shed

Flowed for me! [Chorus]

And now this love of Christ

Shall flow like rivers;

Come wash your guilt away,

Live again! [Chorus]
