GREETING & CALL TO WORSHIP – Psalm 66:1, 4-5

Leader:  The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

People: He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.

Leader: Bless the Lord, all his works, in all places of his dominion.

People: Bless the Lord, O my soul!

PRAYER OF ADORATION, ASSISTANCE, & BLESSING

Trinity Hymnal #2 “O Worship the King”

O worship the King all-glorious above,
O gratefully sing his pow'r and his love;
our shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.

O tell of his might, O sing of his grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space.
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is his path on the wings of the storm.

The earth with its store of wonders untold,
Almighty, your pow'r has founded of old;
has 'stablished it fast by a changeless decree,
and round it has cast, like a mantle, the sea.

Your bountiful care what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air; it shines in the light;
it streams from the hills; it descends to the plain;
and sweetly distils in the dew and the rain.

Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
in you do we trust, nor find you to fail;
your mercies how tender, how firm to the end,
our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!

O measureless Might! Ineffable Love!
While angels delight to hymn you above,
the humbler creation, though feeble their lays,
with true adoration shall lisp to your praise.

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW   from Exodus 20:1-17 & N.T. corollaries, ESV

Leader: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

People: This is the great and first commandment. (Matt. 22: 37-38)

Leader: God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me."

People: For although there may be so-called "gods" in heaven or on earth…yet for us there is one God. (1 Cor. 8:5-6)

Leader: You shall not make for yourself an idol.

People: What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God. (2 Cor. 6:16)

Leader: You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

People: Let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation. (Jam. 5:12)

Leader: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
People: There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. (Heb. 4:9-10)

SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION

ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Colossians 1:21-22

Songbook #87 “ We Believe”

What is salt without its flavor

What is light you cannot see

What's a ship without a rudder

Without fruit what is a tree

Jesus said it's good for nothing

And He gave this warning call

If we speak and then do nothing

We do not have faith at all

Chorus: We believe our true salvation

Comes by grace through faith alone

But true faith results in action

By our deeds we make Him known

If we leave the poor and helpless

Without clothes or daily bread

Do not think this faith will save us

Faith without good works is dead

Abraham was counted righteous

When his sacrifice was made

So his faith was demonstrated

He believed and he obeyed [Chorus]

Lord we know that You are holy

And that we are full of sin

Not by works of our own doing

Only grace restores again

Give us faith to trust Your mercy

Give us vision when we do

Wash us in the blood of Jesus

As we show our love for You [Chorus]

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH

Psalm 119:97-104  “Oh How I Love Your Holy Law” [tune: Trinity Hymnal #168)

O how I love your holy law, O Lord!

All day I meditate upon your word;

It makes me wiser than my enemies,

For your commands are ever with me, Lord.

I have more wisdom than my teachers, Lord,

For on your laws I meditate each day.

I have more insight than the aged ones,

For all your testimonies I obey.

I keep my feet from ev’ry evil path,

For I desire to follow all your word;

Since you have taught me all your wise decrees,

From them I do not turn aside, O Lord.

How sweet your words are, Lord, unto my taste –

Sweeter than honey is upon my tongue.

Through your commandments I will understand,

Therefore, O Lord, I hate each path that’s wrong.

PRAYER OF APPLICATION & THE LORD’S PRAYER

Trinity Hymnal #264  “Jesus, Keep Me near the Cross”

Jesus, keep me near the cross;
there a precious fountain,
free to all — a healing stream —
flows from Calv'ry's mountain.

Refrain:
In the cross, in the cross,
be my glory ever;
till my raptured soul shall find
rest beyond the river.

Near the cross, a trembling soul,
love and mercy found me;
there the Bright and Morning Star
shed its beams around me. [Refrain]

Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
bring its scenes before me;
help me walk from day to day
with its shadow o'er me. [Refrain]

Near the cross I'll watch and wait,
hoping, trusting ever,
till I reach the golden strand
just beyond the river. [Refrain]

Trinity Hymnal p. 845  “Apostles’ Creed”

SERVING OF THE SUPPER

Song “His Mercy Is More”

What love could remember no wrongs we have done

Omniscient all knowing He counts not their sum

Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore

Our sins they are many His mercy is more

What patience would wait as we constantly roam

What Father so tender is calling us home

He welcomes the weakest the vilest the poor

Our sins they are many His mercy is more

What riches of kindness He lavished on us

His blood was the payment His life was the cost

We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford

Our sins they are many His mercy is more

Chorus: Praise the Lord His mercy is more

Stronger than darkness new every morn

Our sins they are many His mercy is more
