GREETING & CALL TO WORSHIP – John 4:23-24
Leader: But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
People: God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

PRAYER OF ADORATION, ASSISTANCE, & BLESSING
Trinity Hymnal #353  “I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord”
I love thy kingdom, Lord,
the house of thine abode,
the church our blest Redeemer saved
with his own precious blood.

I love thy church, O God:
her walls before thee stand,
dear as the apple of thine eye,
and graven on thy hand.

For her my tears shall fall,
for her my prayers ascend;
to her my cares and toils be giv'n,
till toils and cares shall end.

Beyond my highest joy
I prize her heav'nly ways,
her sweet communion, solemn vows,
her hymns of love and praise.

Jesus, thou Friend divine,
Our Savior and our King,
thy hand from ev'ry snare and foe
shall great deliv'rance bring.

Sure as thy truth shall last,
to Zion shall be giv'n
the brightest glories earth can yield,
and brighter bliss of heav'n.

REFLECTION ON GOD’S LAW   from Exodus 20:1-17 & N.T. corollaries, ESV

Leader: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
People: This is the great and first commandment. (Matt. 22: 37-38)

Leader: God spoke all these words, saying, "I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me."
People: For although there may be so-called "gods" in heaven or on earth…yet for us there is one God. (1 Cor. 8:5-6)

Leader: You shall not make for yourself an idol.
People: What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God. (2 Cor. 6:16)

Leader: You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
People: Let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation. (Jam. 5:12)

Leader: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
People: There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. (Heb. 4:9-10)

SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION
ASSURANCE OF PARDON – Romans 6:1-4

Song “New Life!”
Chorus: New life! New life!
You came to bring us new life.
New life! New life!
We find such joy in your abundant life.

You are the source of our great joy,
The fountain of all life.
You give us living water,
You bid us come and drink.
We come to you, we bless you, Lord,
We glorify your name!
We praise you Lord, we worship you,
We thank you for your give
Of New life. [Chorus]

You are the source of our new life,
In your light we see light
You show to us your goodness,
You bid us taste and see.
We come to you, we bless you Lord,
We glorify your name!
We praise you Lord, we worship you,
We thank you for your gift of new life. [Chorus]

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH – Elder Mike Ewing

Psalm 76:1-2 “God Is Truly Known in Judah” [tune: Trinity Hymnal #218]
God is truly known in Judah;
Great His name in Israel.
He has pitched His tent in Salem;
His house stands on Zion’s hill.
There He broke the flaming arrows,
There war’s shield and sword made still.

You’re more glorious and majestic
Than the mountains filled with prey.
Brave and valiant ones You plundered,
Now they slumber in the grave;
Though they once were mighty warriors,
None can lift his hands to save.

Horse and rider both lie sleeping,
Cast down into death’s dark night.
You rebuked them, God of Jacob –
Awe-inspiring in Your might!
Once Your anger has been kindled,
Who can stand before Your sight?

You from heaven spoke Your verdict,
And the earth in fear was still.
Saving all the earth’s afflicted,
God arose to do His will.
With what’s left from wrath You’re girded;
Human wrath will praise You still.

GOD’S WORD READ – James 5:1-5
GOD’S WORD PREACHED – “Warning to the Rich” by Pastor M. Connor Underseth
PRAYER OF APPLICATION & THE LORD’S PRAYER

Trinity Hymnal #421  “Soul, Adorn Yourself with Gladness”
Soul, adorn yourself with gladness,
leave the gloomy haunts of sadness,
come into the daylight's splendor,
there with joy your praises render.
Bless the One whose grace unbounded
this amazing banquet founded;
he, though heav'nly, high, and holy,
deigns to dwell with you most lowly.

Hasten as a bride to meet him,
eagerly and gladly greet him.
There he stands already knocking;
quickly, now, your gate unlocking,
open wide the fast-closed portal,
saying to the Lord immortal:
"Come, and leave your loved one never;
dwell within my heart forever."

Now in faith I humbly ponder
over this surpassing wonder
that the bread of life is boundless
though the souls it feeds are countless;
with the choicest wine of heaven
Christ's own blood to us is given.
Oh, most glorious consolation,
pledge and seal of my salvation.

Jesus, source of lasting pleasure,
truest friend and dearest treasure,
peace beyond all understanding,
joy into all life expanding:
humbly now, I bow before you,
love incarnate, I adore you;
worthily let me receive you,
and, so favored, never leave you.

Trinity Hymnal p. 845  “Apostles’ Creed”

SERVING OF THE SUPPER

Song “Come to His Kingdom”
Come to His Kingdom, bow down to His throne,
He is preparing a place for His own,
Those who will thirst not,  Not stumble by night;
He is their fountain, His glory, their light.

Straight is His pathway, and narrow the gate,
Broad is the highway to the fiery fate.
Take not a step to the left nor the right,
Wielding His armor to fight the good fight.

Buckling the belt of the truth you confess,
Bearing the breastplate of righteousness,
Wearing the gospel of peace at your feet,
Fighting as soldier all foes you shall meet.

Holding the strong shield of faith in its place,
Wearing the helmet of His saving grace,
Fighting the darkness, God’s Word as your sword,
Stand firm, the battle belongs to the Lord.

Come to the banquet, the Lamb and His bride,
All pain is gone now, all tears have been cried.
Join with the angels, His praises to sing,
Come to His kingdom, for there lives the King!
